You may think this is silly . . .

I got the most AWESOME rejection letter on Friday. Okay, rejection letters are not so awesome, but this one was from Asimov’s — the top magazine in the SF world. Usually, I get the form letter from them that says something like, “We get 800 submissions a month, and most of them are not very original.” The kind of rejection that makes me feel like crawling into a hole and never writing again. But this letter was an actual note from Sheila Williams, the editor-in-chief, and even signed in ink. She said, “Please send me more of your work when you have it, though.” I was on cloud nine. The best rejection I’ve ever gotten. So much better than the stupid form letter. Now if I can just get an acceptance …

How to not comment as “tiffany”

At the top left of this page, there is a link that says “Logout.” Click that link. This will take you to a login page where you can login as you, instead of as Tiffany. But don’t do it unless you know what your username and password are or you won’t even be able to comment as Tiffany!

Oops!

Tracy went and bought a bunch of food at the Macey’s case lot sale. He drove the ‘burban around back to unload it through the basement doors, but the snow was a little deeper still than he was expecting, and the ‘burban got stuck in our back yard! It made me laugh.

Our very nice neighbor, Jay, finally pulled it out for us. On the plus side, though, we now have a six month supply of food (Well, a lot of items anyway. We still have some more stuff to get).

Xander had his check-up today. (He’s five months. I’m a little behind.) Anyway, he weighs 12lbs 12ozs and he is twenty-four inches long. Okay — that’s pretty small for five months, but all things considered he’s doing great. Ryan qualified for the state solo and ensemble festival with his trombone solo. Good job, Ryan.

Our ward is doing a pioneer handcart trek this summer. The kids are supposed to pick out a pioneer ancestor to represent. Tracy has been having a great time looking up our pioneer ancestors and finding out when they came across the plains. So far, we have only found one company that had both his and my ancestors in it. That’s kind of odd, considering we both have so many pioneers in our heritage. Anyway, it’s been fun to look at.
