You may think this is silly . . .
I got the most AWESOME rejection letter on Friday. Okay, rejection letters are not so awesome, but this one was from Asimov’s — the top magazine in the SF world. Usually, I get the form letter from them that says something like, “We get 800 submissions a month, and most of them are not very original.” The kind of rejection that makes me feel like crawling into a hole and never writing again. But this letter was an actual note from Sheila Williams, the editor-in-chief, and even signed in ink. She said, “Please send me more of your work when you have it, though.” I was on cloud nine. The best rejection I’ve ever gotten. So much better than the stupid form letter. Now if I can just get an acceptance …
