Xander and Stuff

Perhaps I should set a goal about how often to update here. Maybe every Sunday or something. If you'd like to see pictures of our fun spring break, check out Tiff's or my mom's blog, or see Tracy's Facebook page. He posted all our pictures there.

Xander is learning more words all the time. He has finally started to call Camary Camary instead of "yai" like he used to. He can say all of his brothers' names, but for some reason he calls Finlay Sam. He calls Sam Sam too. He can say Finlay (or at least Fin), I've heard him. He just refuses to. Maybe he's just being rebellious. Xander refers to himself as Der, because I guess he can't make the Z sound for Xander. Of course, his brothers think Der is hilarious, so I have to threaten them not to call him that. He said his first sentence last week. "My head hurts." Ah, what a sad sentence. It's so cute to hear him say, "What happened?" whenever something falls down. I think he believes that "what happened" means "something fell down." He says it when he falls down too. He'll come up to me crying, and say. "What happened, Mom. What happened." He's not asking. He's just telling me he fell down. His favorite food is "chowat." (That's chocolate, if you can't tell. A child after my own heart.) He loves, loves, loves to watch the movie Cars. I usually wake up to him asking, "Watch Cars, Mom?" Sadly, since I usually don't want to get up as early as he does, I turn on Cars. Sigh. My friend suggested I switch the language to French and call it an educational experience.

We got a gecko from our hometeacher. He raises them. I was reluctant. The kids have been asking forever to have one. I finally relented. They've been taking good care of him, and I have to admit that he's growing on me. He really is kind of cute. Ryan took the ACT last week. He's going to prom on Saturday, the day after his 17th birthday. Man, time goes by so fast. Rusty is playing Spring soccer. I don't usually allow Spring soccer, as one soccer season per year is enough, but I let Rusty do it after forbidding him to play lacrosse, which broke his heart. Sam and Finlay will be doing an after-school karate class for about three weeks. That should be fun. I got Camary all registered for kindergarten in the Fall. She's very excited. Tracy was elected our Republican precinct chair, so he gets to be a delegate to both the State and County conventions. He's been attending lots of political meetings, getting tons of mail, and I'm about to switch our phone to an unlisted number so we stop getting "public survey" calls. It's a good thing for him to be involved. Oh, I got elected the precinct secretary. Not sure what, if any, duties I actually have with that. I guess I'll find out. My R.S. calling is going well. We went up to Salt Lake for Auxiliary Leadership Training the week before conference. It was really good.

I guess that's about all for now. See ya later!
